Finding Our Purpose
The Practice
This meditation will transport you into the dynamic flow of well-being. Sit or lie in a comfortable place that is quiet and free from distractions.
Close your eyes and notice yourself breathing. On the inhale, feel your chest expand. And on the exhale feel your spine elongate, rooting you deeply into the Earth.
-
- Bring your attention to a space in the center of your head. This space, often known as the third eye, third ventricle, or crystal cave is filled with light.
- Sense yourself inside the space.
- Notice the color and texture of the light. Sense its movement. Hear its frequency.
- If your mind wanders into thought, simply place your hand on your forehead, and bring your attention back to the light.
- Travel with the light as it moves down your spine and into your core. Sense the light in your heart, blood, organs, lymph, tissues, and cells.
- Know, feel, sense that this light is who you are. It is the deep well of beingness, and it flows now and throughout your lifetime.
- Say out loud, “I know who I am.” Repeat for as long as you like.
- When you’re ready, slowly return your awareness to physical space and time. Focus on your breath. Then open your eyes.
Take a moment to write words that best describe who you are. Simply make a list. It may include radiant, potent, loving, awesome, divine. Then write about your experience. Consider, too, singing, dancing, or painting YOU.
