The Empowered Warrior
The Practice
Prepare a quiet space to journal.
Reflect on these questions and write your responses.
- What’s a choice you will need to make today that you would rather not? It could be as simple as what to have for dinner or as complex as whether or not to leave your job.
- Does your reluctance cause stress and leave you feeling powerless? What emotions get stirred up?
Practice these techniques to calm and stabilize your nervous system. They will help lower stress and give you more freedom to decide.
- Locate the space between your ring and pinky fingers. With the middle finger on your other hand, begin tapping in the well about 1⁄2” behind the space between these fingers. This is the gamut point and signals your nervous system to become calm. Focus on one emotion and repeat, “Even though I feel _____________ , I freely love and accept myself.” Continue tapping until the emotion subsides.
- Tug gently on your earlobes, moving along the rim from the bottom to the top. Repeat three times. Notice a shift in your energy.
- Place the middle finger of one hand between your eyebrows above the bridge of the nose, on the ”third eye.” Place the other middle finger in the navel. Gently press each finger into the skin, pull upward, and hold for one minute. When you yawn, sigh, or feel more grounded, you’ve stabilized your system.
Journal about your experiences moving energy and the impact it had.
