The Practice

This practice will help you to remember your true nature and resonate with well-being. Find a quiet time and place to read to practice.

Close your eyes and focus on your breath. We’ll begin with the state of happiness.

  • Recall a time when you felt happy, or use your imagination to create one.
  • Relive the setting, sights, sounds, tastes, and pleasure of being in that moment. Experience happiness.
  • Resonate with happiness. Notice its energy ripple through you.
  • Release the story, letting it slowly fade away. You will continue to BE happiness.
  • Return to the present. Happiness will flow naturally into what you do—look out the window, sip your tea, pet the dog, pick up a book, smile.

Practice creating well-being with the states of vitality, joy, gratitude, peace, or acceptance. Expect to hold the resonance of each for 10–20 seconds. That will be enough.

Write about your experiences with your natural states of well-being.

As you practice more, you’ll discover you can resonate with your chosen state without returning to a memory of it. The Five R’s will be available as needed.
